Wasteland

Wearing: Jacket (similar), Dress (Vintage), Hat (similar), Report Aydin Boots

Effortless is ideal. That's what I try to tell myself everyday as the goal to keeping my wardrobe as clean and crisp as possible. I've been around as a retail worker here and back so I know how trends are sold and thrust at consumers, so lately I've been inching for more classic staples and vintage objects. For example, I've been waiting for fall weather to strike to break out this velvet dress. It's an 80's vintage piece made to be sultry and sexy, I'm loving the v-cut neck and back-line on this it screams vixen! You don't find things that feel as good and look as simple as this dress anymore! But I'm shameful to admit, I'm still a sucker for good prices from Forever 21 and H&M. It's a bit hard to resist the pull. I always find something I'd like to add to my wardrobe from these mall favorites. How do I resist the pull? By reading. Lots of reading. Particularly reading these texts in the picture above. They keep you busy and give you great inspiration to...not to live as fast as fast-fashion.

Lately in Future-Past

Wearing: Jacket (Vintage Levis), Snapback + Slip Dress + Sandals (Asos)

My BF's somber apartment view.

Bubble Tea at Saigon.

Oh Asos. Take my wallet. I had been looking for another basic midi slip-dress with a twist, and found this one in their summer sale. I love how it feels; airy and comfortable against me. Perfect for this heat.

So after debating with myself all summer, I decided to not keep my internship through the school year. My co-workers gave me some flowers as a parting gift which was very endearing to me. But I'm back in the frying pan, it's senior year! So that means capstone projects and personal projects galore. Visual Communication Design can be demanding sometimes so time will be of the essence for many projects. I'm glad to have had the experiences that I did at my internship over the summer, but now I will focus my efforts on my own work and what it means to me. I have a feeling this blog will immensely grow to be apart of what "work" means to me, so please look forward to my journey in this crazy visual world.

Forbidden Nights

Wearing: Hat + Earrings (Forever 21), Top (Staring at Stars), Trousers (Cynthia Rowley -old-), Shoes (Restricted), Purse (Coach -vintage-)

I've been out doing things I shouldn't be doing lately so I've been dressed to kill. This top...is magic. The most basic thing you'd ever seen on a rack but it's now my favorite thing in my closet. I actually bought this once, returned it, and went back to buy it again. I fretted a bit bout the price because...well it's a drape t-shirt that i could make if I had time...but I don't have the time! So now it stays in my closet. It's got a witch-like quality that in a way, suits me. Why did I ever return it in the first place??

Net-A-Porter x Urban Decay x Sugar For Spike Giveaway

Hello everyone I have an exciting announcement, I've teamed up with Net-A-Porter and new Singapore based Sugar For Spike to promote their new brand with a chance for my readers to win a $500 Urban Decay voucher!

"Sugar For Spike is pleased to announce the release of its debut collection editorial lookbook.
The inspiration behind the lookbook comes from two friends, looking for an escape from the perfectionism and commercialism of their city, where they stumble into a “secret” underground hangout to have a little carefree fun.
Dancing and twirling throughout the night, and forgetting whom they are and what the world deems as appropriate behaviour, they end up discovering that the liberation from the night out will be one of the memories they will treasure about their youth.

The collection is slated to release at select retailers and online at sugarforspike.com on 7th August 2014. The line is also available for pre-order now, with free international shipping. Closing date for pre-orders is 10th July 2014."

I'm loving their lookbook's stunning photography and concepts (girlfriends night out!), definitely reflects my mood recently since I've just celebrated my 21st Birthday! Woo! I wish I could enter the contest myself, I'm so jealous of all of you! Giveaway ends on July 11th, so Enter to win now follow three steps, (easy), and you'll also get $20 off your first order with Sugar For Spike. Good luck!

White Lace up Sandals

Nasty Gal (Delirious), I Desire The Things That Will Destroy Me (Gotham), Alexander Wang (Marlene)

Why can't I find proper lace-up sandals? I'm currently lusting for the type that wrap around your ankles like dainty ballerina shoes. Nobody is making them. Except these brands. I love the dainty look of the straps wrapping around your ankles, not like gladiator sandals with thick straps. These are like a hint of Mediterranean Roman, but in a more subtle femme way. I know the word for them, Greek sandals! Greek is the way to go.
