Streetwear Kinks

Wearing: Daisy crop tee (Truly Madly Deeply), Overall Dress (Romwe), Black hoodie worn tied (Converse), Dr martens vintage, hand-made necklace.

Recent buys: Teen Vogue for Macy's Pleather Tee $17.00 (bought by mom, but sale on macys.com), Philip Lim for Target tunic top $29.99 (Target.com), White Platform Sneakers $29.99 (Urban Outfitters)

Deadlines are finished and now it's time for some relaxation. Although I have a test this morning, so maybe I shouldn't relax just yet!
I didn't end up lining up for Philip Lim for Target, since in Indiana, usually all the pieces remain intact at the stores. I was wrong. All the bags were swiped, the dresses and circle skirts were gone. Oops. Well, I managed to score 1 out of 2 things I wanted from the collaboration and that just means that I will spend less money I suppose. But, at the moment, I'm passionately looking around for streetwear pieces like hats, hoodies, sneakers, boots. Crop tops are big atm but with winter coming up I'm resisting and opting for Crop sweaters instead, for a good practical reason. You might see a lot more things I've bought in the next few posts, because I'm looking for fairly specific things. When I find them I FIND THEM. :D

Emerald Lust

(Shoe Cult Spectrum Boot [Nasty Gal], Zandria Studded Tote [Nasty gal], Stardust Earrings [Bowie buy on The Grand Social], Dr. Denim Super Skinny Jean [Asos buy simular here])

Looking around for this color for fall. I can't believe I don't see more emerald colored jeans or shoes! They could be just as versatile as the all blue trend, if you just need to mix textures to prevent looking like an overgrown Christmas tree. EMERALD LEATHER and CRYSTAL is what I wish more stores had for F/W 2013, I still feel like I can't find enough choices for my favorite shade of green. I suppose it's because its not "trendy" at this moment like white, blues, and black....but seriously! Make more. I'll buy more.

Shiftings

Wearing:
Top (Elie Tahari [past season] from Marshalls)
Pleather Shorts (H&M buy simular here)
Batwing Cardigan (Marshalls [old] by simular here)
Flats (Restricted)

Refreshing day for school and the weather warms up a little so I can show some skin again (hooray!). Life isn't very exciting atm but there's a nice breeze and I'm enjoying free time I have out of classes. Mostly just checking out other peoples blogs and viewing S/S 2014 collections for the time being. ;D

Minimalist Dates

Wearing:
Crop Top and Bracelet [Thrifted], Slit Skirt [Mom's] (Vintage)
Silver Watch (Nine west)
Clutch (Charming Charlie's)
Black Pumps (Steve Madden)

Mom's closet is such a sacred place for me personally. All the jewelry, suits, gowns, lipstick, perfumes, I was familiar with it all as the tomboy I was growing up. I've never believed I could truly fit into my mother's shoes (literally) but I (literally) have actually out grown her...my foot size and height several numbers larger! Physically I have grown so much taller than my mother, but I still feel mentally I have lots to endure before I reach her level of maturity. (I want to grow up faster! xD) Physically I've reached the point to when I can finally wear her vintage clothes, but mum will always be the more responsible adult in my eyes.

So recently, me and mom looked through the closet and pulled out this all black vintage skirt suit from the 90's that she'd worn at a wedding, and I took the slit skirt and my thrifted crop top and made a 1995 worthy date look for my date night. Truly a gem hidden in the closet. Who ever knew the slit skirt would come back 20 years later? Thank you mom of 1995! A great investment. ;D

Florals for Fall part 2

Wearing:
Sweater Top (Bar III [old])
Floral Dress worn as skirt and Sunglasses (Forever 21 [old])
Multi Rings (Romwe)
Black Tote bag (BCBG Max Azria)
Thigh High Socks [old]
Vintage Necklace and Dr. Martens [Thrifted]

This dress is what I wore on my very first post here on the blog. It's about 3 years old, but it's so versatile for all these years I've had it worn, worn, and worn again. Never retired it. Even when the straps broke, I fixed them up again. I love it's color print, it's A-line cut, and it's association with spring so much. How can you not? So I'm wearing it here for fall as well because I just can't let it go.

Dark Vixen

Wearing:
Slit Dress worn under corset (H&M)
Corset and necklace (Forever 21)
Sandals (Steve Madden [old])
Purse (BCBG Max Azria)
Everything else is Vintage

I'm a little darker than I'd like to be (skin wise) and all black is a permanent fix for this summer's tan. I don't really have a preference for tan or pale, but I really struggle to pick out proper colors to wear with my new skin color. It's puzzling. I feel self conscious when my skin suddenly changes color. It's like the canvas of a painting got darker so you must paint different colors? I suppose that's my best comparison. Perhaps I'm over exaggerating.

My Grey School Suit

Wearing:
Sweatshirt Top and Sunglasses (H&M)
Skirt (Thrifted)
Black Leather Tote (BCBG MAX AZRIA)
Heart Tights (Forever 21 [old])
Red booties (MTNG buy on envishoes.com)

I've had quite the day and I'm sure exhausted! Ran into some bad luck when somebody backed out into my car, really not fun at all to deal with but I must push on because the school work is piling in full. The work is tedious lately but at the same time, lots of fun. I'm currently working on presentations for my research on subcultures. There's so many obscure ones. Do fashion bloggers count as a subculture? Haha!

It's almost been a year since I joined the wonderful world of personal fashion blogging, and it keeps getting more interesting as time flies by. I've seen my viewers grow for the past 3 years on Tumblr and now here on my personal fashion blog, and I have to say thank you to you all for enjoying my content! I wonder what new people I'll meet and the places it'll take me in time!
